Professional Training

Supervision

I offer supervision for Shiatsu students at all levels and fully qualified shiatsu practitioners and teachers.

The aim is to clarify and strengthen the professional role as a therapist and teacher, exploring different communication styles with their clients. Supervision is often used for specific case study analysis with regard to developing a clear treatment plan. Any issue regarding practice may be discussed in supervision e.g. difficult clients, working relationships or how to manage a private practice. Regular supervision prevents burn out and aims to reduce stress for the practicing therapist. Supervision hours count towards continuous professional development (CPD), also known as reflective practice. Nowadays it is a training standard and requirement from the professional body as part of training at under and post graduate level.
